A Journey from Washington to Arizona

I grew up in Washington state, often called the land of coffee and rain. Surrounded by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, I developed a deep appreciation for family, community, and hard work. After completing my undergraduate studies, I pursued my Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Covenant College, where my passion for science and healthcare truly took root.

From there, I continued my academic journey at the University of Alabama Dental School. It was there that I earned my Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.), a degree that laid the foundation for my future in orthodontics. Wanting to deepen my knowledge, I remained in Alabama for three more years, completing a Master of Science (M.S.) in Oral Biology along with a Certificate of Specialty in Orthodontics. This advanced training gave me the expertise needed to diagnose, plan, and deliver personalized orthodontic treatment for patients of all ages.

Experience in the Pacific Northwest

For more than 11 years, I was privileged to practice orthodontics in the Pacific Northwest. I owned and operated two office locations, each staffed with incredible teams who shared my commitment to patient care. Over the years, I had the honor of helping countless patients transform their smiles, and in the process, I built lasting relationships with families across the region.

Practicing in the PNW was not only professionally rewarding but also personally meaningful. It gave me the chance to serve communities that reminded me of my own upbringing, while also challenging me to grow as a provider and leader.

A New Chapter in Arizona

Recently, my family and I relocated to Arizona, and we are thrilled to now call this sunny, beautiful state our home. Moving from Washington to Arizona has been a big transition, but it’s one we’ve embraced wholeheartedly. While we’ll always have a soft spot for the Pacific Northwest, we’re grateful for the warmth, energy, and vibrancy that Arizona offers.

My wife, Dolly, and I have been married for 20 years. Together, we are raising four wonderful children—two daughters and two sons—alongside two lively dogs. Yes, we do have a thing for symmetry, and we like to laugh about it often!

As a family, we enjoy making memories through shared experiences. Some of our favorite activities include attending concerts, playing card games around the kitchen table, wake surfing in the summer, snow skiing in the winter, and cooking together year-round. These moments of fun and togetherness help shape the values I bring into my practice every day: balance, connection, and joy.

Beyond the Office

Outside of orthodontics, I have another passion—BBQ. If I weren’t an orthodontist, I often joke that I’d run my own Texas-style BBQ restaurant. From experimenting with rubs and sauces to perfecting the slow-smoke process, BBQ is both a hobby and a creative outlet. Just like orthodontics, it requires patience, attention to detail, and a love for bringing people together.

We also remain loyal fans of our Washington and Seattle sports teams, but since moving, we’ve been excited to cheer on the Cardinals, Diamondbacks, and Suns. Sports, like orthodontics, are all about teamwork and perseverance, values I believe in deeply.

A Passion for Patient Care

While personal interests and hobbies are a big part of who I am, my greatest professional passion is orthodontics. Nothing is more rewarding than helping patients achieve the smile they’ve always wanted. I believe that orthodontic care isn’t just about straightening teeth—it’s about building confidence, improving oral health, and creating lasting change that positively impacts someone’s life.

Every patient is unique, and I strive to create treatment plans that reflect individual needs and goals. Whether it’s braces, Invisalign, or other modern orthodontic options, my mission is to provide high-quality care in a welcoming environment. I want every patient who walks through our doors to feel at ease, respected, and excited about their smile journey.
